The 10942B Redundancy (backup) Switching System provides backup selections for signals as high as 800MHz, digital ASI video signals, or both. This product delivers ultra-high signal performance coupled with advanced remote/manual control and monitoring. Dual serial ports, or Ethernet and a single serial port configurations are available.
Designed specifically for ENG trucks, and for the general satellite/communications industry, the 1RU high rack mount unit provides the user with normal through paths for four channels of IF signals (four in and four out). Under front panel, remote serial control, Ethernet or direct alarm input control, the unit can select a backup signal to replace a suspect input signal. This unit is considered the "gold standard" for redundancy switching with over 2000 units deployed in the field and 0.0015% failures to date.
Redundancy costs can be significantly reduced by utilizing the unit's 1:4 mode where a single backup unit can be switched in for any of the four channels. This redundancy method basically cuts your redundancy costs by 75%. User programmable "priority" setting specifies the order of backup priority for the single backup.
Besides the hot-swap power supplies at the front panel, it also includes a VF display, manual keys for local control and a host of status LEDs. The manual controls may be locked to prevent unintentional operation. Self-monitoring hot-swap plug-in power supplies are standard with an independent and redundant design. The unit has an international AC power input designed for any international AC power source, and an optional wide-range DC power input is available.
